reality is a conversation.
and the conversation must continue.
Arash Afshar is an Iranian-American artist, photographer, creative director, and cultural architect.
For over two decades he has moved between worlds that rarely speak to each other — government institutions and underground music scenes, civic life and counterculture, the mainstream and the margins. That tension informs his storytelling, his perspective, and his aesthetic in equal measure.
His lens finds the intimate in the epic and the epic in the intimate. He sees legacy in real time — not simply documenting moments, but understanding what they reveal about who we are and where we are going.
He is the host of Burner Podcast, the longest running traditional podcast in the global Burning Man community, and has served in creative and leadership roles across arts organizations, civic institutions, and underground cultural spaces. His forthcoming essay collection, Restless, maps the interior life of an artist living at the intersection of countercultures and Iranian-American identity.
